Have a look at Simple English Wikipedia. It's like the normal Wikipedia but all the articles have been rewritten with those where English is not their first Language and also quite useful for children too. All the articles are written with a much smaller vocabulary and smaller sentences with easier grammar.
The is great for EAL use *
if* that if the article appears in another language you can just click that language name and you'll see it. It's not a computer translation it really is the same article written in the other language. Two things to note: 1. Wikipedia is written and changed by anyone so don't always trust it and be careful. 2. All the language names are in their native language. See below for an example of the article for "chair".
