The HT has asked me to look into healthy schools scheme, Ive downloaded a whole novel of info but need to read and digest it in order to inform the govenors about it at the next meeting next monday.

has anyone been involved in it and if so how much extra work does it involve to reach the criteria

We've just had the final team visit for ours last Monday and were told then that we'd got it all bar the paper work.. Lot's of evidence need that I do know. I'll pop in to school if I have a chance on Monday and bring the files home.

Just tried that link and got a lank white page

Then did a search and found this:

gives some ideas - but looks like you have to use IE and not have firewalls or pop-up blockers ...

I tried the link, my pop-up blocker went crazy but I did get a log-in box - there was a essage beneath it which said:

'Please Note: Viewpoint Online uses pop-ups. To allow Viewpoint Online to run you will need to edit the settings of your pop-up blocker to allow this website,

so there does seem to be an alternative without all the pop-ups.

We have just gained the gold healthy school award. Our PE coordinator took charge of it. I know there was quite a lot of evidence gathering to do such as our Junior fruit shop at break times, evidence of our annual healthy schools week we have.

There was also a lot of emphasis on using the SEAL [social emotional aspects of learning] and how older pupils work with the younger ones.

I am involved in a project which involves the Y6 Pshe lessons[ which I cover for PPA] linked to the Y1 Pshe lessons. We developed a topic where they were working together and are on our second one.

I will ask the teacher next Monday what she had to do if you still need information.

My school is looking into this and I have been given the task of beginning to co-ordinate it!!!!!!! (With another). It seems daunting as there is so much involved. Can anyone tell me the best place to start. Eg maybe a school audit to see what is going on at the moment. What type of activities should we be starting up?

Any advice welcom and needed!!
Cheers

We are in the process of it, having a healthy schools week with a tour bus and skipping workshop, being co-ordinated by one of the reception teachers. Might be worth you having a chat with her Wink
