I received this book for Christmas, finished reading it today and throughly enjoyed it.

It was a well written story about a seemingly everyday family, funny and bittersweet - but I am not going to give anything away!!

Happy reading Very Happy Very Happy

I love the way that mark haddon can write about a really serious almost tragic situation and have you rolling on the floor, I had tears in my eyes during the bathroom incident and the ditch scene, but I'll say no more Wink

I loved this book. Very Happy

An interesting mix of characters that each have their own issues to deal with. It had the right amount of comedy woven into their sometimes tragic lives to make the book enjoyable and not-put-downable. I still have images in my head over the bathroom scene! Shocked

I.m looking forward to reading it. I did look at it as a possible read a few months ago then didn't bother so I am pleased we have the book group going..... I was probably meant to order it back then but I have sent off for it today.

I agree Summer. You really feel like you are inside the head of the character, sympathetic one minute, squirming the next, with lots of laughs along the way Very Happy Very Happy

Very enjoyable read, not what I expected after curious incident. Very easy to read, I always like books written in short chapters - always time to squeeze in just one more Razz very believable storyline, though wouldn't like a repitition of that wedding when it comes to #1 getting married Shocked
