watch it if you get a chance |
Yes, I saw that one last night too - my dad had lent me the film but I'd never got around to watching it and then I gave it back. I'm really glad I saw it. Didn't it make you cross that he and the mother-in-law just let the poor girl take all that flak by herself!!! I wonder if she ended up with the butcher? _________________

[The girl with the pearl ear-ring]
That sounds like a good film. Is it on Sky movie channel or did you watch a DVD?
Well, Me and the daughters are going to the cinema to see..... PS I love you. Already read the book so will take a box of tissues. It comes out [at our cinema anyway] on 4th January.
We have only had a cinema in our market town for less than a year, before that we had to travel 16 miles for the nearest cinema, so this is great having one on the doorstep and we are making good use of it.[[/quote] |

i liked the ending...open enough to use your own imagination
im going to get the book to read, i didnt finish it when i borrowed it before |
That's very true (about the servant bit)... I just thought it was a shame, but I suppose that's just the way it was.
I like endings like that too... Mind you some films do end in a slightly TOO obscure way!!

I have been thinking about it and the other servant said at the end: "So I have come to the right place then." For some reason that suggests to me that she did go to the Butcher's boy because otherwise nobody would've known where to find her...
It was a lovely film though - as you say, DQ, lovely cinematography as well - almost like being in a work of art in itself. _________________
