Two schools, both in the same village, but worlds apart, are turned upside down when the ambitious and fatally attractive headmaster of fashionable Bagley Hall, Hengist Brett-Taylor, hatches a plan to share the highly superior facilities of his school with the students at Larkminster Comprehensive. His reasons for doing so are purely financial but he is also encouraged by the opportunities the scheme gives him for frequent meetings with Janna Curtis the young, pretty and enthusiastic new head of the comprehensive school. Janna has been drafted in to save what is a fast-sinking school from closure, and she will do anything to rescue her run-down, demoralized and cash-strapped school. _________________ To the world you are just one person to one person you may be the whole world. |

A fictional story based on two women's life in Afghanistan before and during Taliban reign. Although hard to understand women's status over there it is still a very good story and keeps you wanting to read on

A very reflective account of friendship between two boys mixed with history of Afghanistan. Just when you think something might happen, the author takes it in a different direction so it's not predictable. A story of father and son, friendship and betrayal and the casualties or fate

1960s in Nigeria blighted by civil war. the story is of three main characters whose lives intersect. When the shocking horrors of war engulfs them their loyalties are severely tested as they are pulled apart and thrown together in ways none would imagine.
A really good insight in the lives of people living in what was then called Biafra understanding how they ended up in refuge camps. |
