A Thousand Splendid Suns: Khaled Hossenini
A fictional story based on two women's life in Afghanistan before and during Taliban reign. Although hard to understand women's status over there it is still a very good story and keeps you wanting to read on

2. The Kite Runner: Khaled Hosseini Couldn't put this book down and read within two days. A very reflective account of friendship between two boys mixed with history of Afghanistan. Just when you think something might happen, the author takes it in a different direction so it's not predictable. A story of father and son, friendship and betrayal and the casualties or fate

3. A spot of bother: Mark haddon

4. Half of a yellow sun : Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
1960s in Nigeria blighted by civil war. the story is of three main characters whose lives intersect. When the shocking horrors of war engulfs them their loyalties are severely tested as they are pulled apart and thrown together in ways none would imagine.

A really good insight in the lives of people living in what was then called Biafra understanding how they ended up in refuge camps.

5.West of Kabul, East of new York Tamim Ansary. Biography of a writer born in Afghanistan and emigrated to USA.

6. The boy in striped pyjamas [ forgot the author]
That was an eye opener to read!

Blood Ties: Sam Hayes
A baby girl is left for a moment and disappears............ 13 years later solicitor Robert Knight is delighted his new step daughter is accepted into a really nice private school for the gifted. The only puzzle is his wife's reluctance to let her go. He believes she has something to hide.........

A really good book which tells the story of three characters [husband and wife and mother of child abducted.]

6. My best friend's girl : Dorothy Koomson

7. narrowboat girl : Annie Murray

8. Water Gypsies: Annie Murray

9. PS I love you : Cecelia Ahern

10. Blood Ties Sam Hayes

11. A lesser Evil : lesley Pearce

12. Remember me; Lesley Pearce

13. Hope ; Lesley Pearce

14. Faith : lesley Pearce

15. Never Look back ; Lesley Pearce

16. Trust Me ; leslesy Pearce

17. Ellie ; Lesley Pearce

As you can see I have been going through lots of her books! lol But most have een very good reads.
