I read the book some time ago; I thought it was wonderful, but I did cry rather a lot reading it - when I wasn't laughing. Very Happy

I would love to see the film, but think I'd better wait until it comes out on DVD. Wink

went to see the film today and blubbed through most of it Embarassed (I didn't look pleasant walking out afterwards!)

my friend said the other day that she hoped the film wasn't as sad as the book!

Noticed today that the film was advertised as a 'romantic comedy'..............................LIARS! Liar It was sad with some funny bits in between

ps i love you

the book was really good. i treated myself to the dvd and i thought it was very slow and that the book was better. they missed quite a lot out of the book that was in the film.
i took ages to get into the story (dvd)

Not read the book nor seen the film but must comment that any book I have read that has been made into a film has been better, mainly because you learn much more about a character's feelings in a book whereas in a film you rely entirely on the director getting those feelings across Smile

Have to agree. I have read the book and loved it but wouldn't want to see it as a film. Don't think hubby and kids would come with me anyway!

Not read the book but thoroughly enjoyed film myself (prob cos not read book)
Only thing about film was...noone is that lucky. I mean her first love was absolutely gorgeous and then when she meets the second so was he. Not real life huh?

Worth a watch. Must get the book.

I love Cecelia Ahern and have read all her books apart from "If you could see me now" which I have just started.
She is such a good writer.
P.S I Love You was the first one of her books I read and I throughly enjoyed it though the film wasn't as good as the book, I think its because when you read a book you really get into the story and imagine what the characters are like...and they are never like this in the film!!
