i'm going to watch all the videos today. Got the day to myself with no distractions then start reading chapter 3. Not going to make my mind up until I've done that.

I agree book three was horrible and so boring but this book looks really interesting so far!

Chlo or Bluebell, please HELP - do you by any chance have notes relevant to option 1 (TMA07). Anything you have would really help me out.

I've written about half the TMA but have now hit a bit of a brick wall and can't seem to get started again. I didn't realise how hard it would be to write a TMA during the school holidays with my daughter shouting MUM every 5 seconds!!!! lol Evil or Very Mad

Thanks in advance.

Hi CFB

I don't have any tutorial notes as me and Chloe don't have one until 30th August... A bit late really. I have lots of notes made but getting them in order is more difficult. I'm also doing option one. I'm looking at the learning objectives for option 1 and trying to guide myself by that. Chloe gave me a bit of advice and it seems to be on these lines. if you want o discuss it PM me or post here. I think it's a case of sifting out what's relevant to the question which is quite difficult at times. I' found going away on holiday really set me back and it was so hard to get back into study mode. but hopefully it's coming together.

Is it the one about poverty, CFB? Can I be of any help?

Thanks Bluebell, that's a good idea. I will go back to them and have another look. Did you include anything significant from the previous chapter?

Thanks Medusa. The title is 'Evaluate the actions required to achieve health for children'. I have so far written about the health issues confronted by children and all the underlying causes, social issues, culture, gender etc and I'm just about to write about what actions have been taken and why these problems still exist. I think I'm missing something but I'm not sure what. Like Bluebell has suggested I think I need to go back and re-read the learning objectives. I'm sure I will get there in the end!!! Smile

Hi CFB

in evaluating whether agendas / health programmes have been successful or not, i have also said how they could work better. eg perhaphs focus more on preventative health care as opposed to magic bullet cures, which don't really adress the underlying problems.

More horizonal agendas as opposed to top down, which are often westernized in their view.

Also need to really take acount of local beliefs / understandings and incorporate these ideas inorder for health programmes to be accepted.

Poverty is a major obstacle to achieving child health, so root causes need to tackled, otherwise it is a viscious circle.

Hope that helps. That's only my ideas though, so i might be barking up the wrong tree. Something to think about though.

Good luck and hope you get it finished.

hi CFB

Just sent mine off finally. feel very relieved that it's out the way now so need to get down to some revising.
have you decided what course you are doing next? I think I am going for K204 working with children and families.

Have just had it confirmed today that school will still continue to fund half my course fees so am pleased about that.

Hi Bluebell,

I sent mine off last night and I'm so glad I don't have to do anymore TMA's, well until the next course that is. I'm hoping to start organising my revision tomorrow, I don't want to get out of the habit and suddenly realise I've run out of time!!

I'm also thinking about K204 as I like the sound of children and families, which is an area I'm interested in. Will decide after the exam.

Glad to hear you got half your funding, you lucky thing, I'm paying my own fees Crying or Very sad

I'm also thinking of k204 for my next course. It would be good if we all did it together again. It really helps having some moral support.

Past u212ers does anyone have any good tips for revsion. There seems so much info to try and remember.

If anyone has any revision notes or topic plans that they wouldn't mind shairing they would be much appreciated.

Chlo and Bluebell,

A past U212'er sent me all their revision notes, which may or may not be useful. I haven't looked at them fully myself yet but I'm happy to send them to you. Just let me know if you want them.
