not sure but I think its up to the school and depends what examining board they are with

Romeo and Juliet was the one i did with yr 10 and 11

Macbeth with year 9

Midsummer nights dream with year 7

could have all changed now though

just asked #2 who did her literacy gcse in Y10 and they did romeo and juliet too

Thanks. Just been talking to my daughters friend and it turns out het dad teaches english!!!! So is going to point me in right direction. But, yeah, I thought it was Romeo and Juliet. Wasn't 100%.

Jimbo did Romeo and Juliet and hated it. I loved it when I did it and our Years 6s did too when we performed it a few years back for assembly.

I did the usual too, Romeo & Juliet & Macbeth in year 9 & 1o respectively . One tragedy & one history.

Syllabus may have changed though?

When I was at school (many moons ago... lol) we did King Lear, Midsummer Nights Dream and Julius Caesar (loved those). The lower group did A Winter's Tale and Taming of the Shrew.

My son, KS3, has just done Much Ado About Nothing but it appears to have been a modern reworking rather than the traditional Shakespeare.

the leonardo Di caprio one is the one ours watched, but also West Side story is a modern retelling
