Hi,

I am considering an ambitious shot at applying for this position! might as well hey no harm! although i have limited experience of working with EAL children in Primary Schools the job description looks quite appealing to me, and it wants someone speaking Gujarati or Urdu and i speak both, and it looks good, although it looks like a good challenging position, but i want to give it a go. I just need a bit of help with regards to writing the application.

Not so sure I can help with the application but I would say if you speak both the required languages and English (for the school staff who don't) you sound an ideal candidate

reporting back everyone...I have been invited to an interview next week thursday! I am suprised! well firstly i i have to start off with a 5min presentation upon the question: "What are the key features of successful Ethnic Minority Achievement provision and Support in an 11-16 multi cultural secondary school". I am planning to see someone regarding this...but any more info would be appreciated.

Brilliant news well done. My thoughts are include boys v girls and traditional expectations might need to be included but I'm sure you will find someone with more experience to guide you. Have some visual aids so you can refer to them 'stops you from being a rabbit in the headlights.'

I did go to the interview, from the seven candidates 2 of them worked at the school itself! but i was good experience anyway. Thanks for the tips n support! Very Happy

So when do you find out.Perhaps they will keep you in mind for another post if you don't get it.Could you ask about supply?Think about what you could offer if you don't get but don't assume that it willl go internally.
