mmm look at that lovely blue sea....it hardly looks like the place where all those people could have suffered so much

but then you could also understand how someone wouldnt want to leave as well

I have just started part 2 of the book and find it quite heartbreaking that they (Elenia and Dimitri) are being sent there. Very well written and I can be soppy and get emotional with books (it is my release from study, work and life sometimes).

It seems hard to believe that with all the preparations for a major war and technology tied up with it making so many advances, that in 1939 there was no civilised way to deal with leprosy (or TB for that matter) Evil or Very Mad

i've just started reading it tonight. can see its my kind of book though felt sad even at the first chapter. My own stuff kicks in. I'd have liked those kind of parents...and that kind of relationship. with them. i know...its only a story but even so it brings stuff to the fore.

as i was reading i just felt there with her. praps i could go to bed early tonight and read some more Smile

just finished it! a good book.

i learnt new facts about leprosy.

its another of those books which stays with you after finishing it.

wonder what can read next...
