Hi Im working with a yr 1 child who is awaiting an assesent but is showing signs for asperges syndrome Im using activty sheets from how r u feeling book but there isn't much in their for him can anyone think of anywhere else I can gather some fun activites which will include social and emotional development. Confused
also is their anyone out there who has done or is doing an access course.
Im on my second module which is psychology wondered if anyone had any tips or books they wanted to sell.

If you pm me a specific psychology query I would be happy to help. Social Use of Language resources are very good for helping with social emotional stuff. put SULP into google [other search engines available]

and the National Autistic Society was offering a free CD rom about emotions (about toy trains, etc), that is good.

Summertime is right, the free give away has now ended. Though I understand a lot of members applied for it so someone may have a copy they are not using.

Also check out the download section. The character emotion pack has pictures of the characters showing different faces for different emotions. As the character faces are human my own feelings are these are much better then many of the ones I've seen using simple drawing or cartoons.

If you find the child has a favorite character they like the look of then one way of using them would be to print them off and get him to pick the one which represents how he feels.

But they are much better for looking at facial expressions and looking at particular parts of the face to see how different emotions can effect how we look.
