Hi

I am almost finished my NVQ level 3 teaching assistant course and we were given details of the open evening for the foundation degree course starting in September but I am not sure if I should try for it.

I have enjoyed the NVQ but not sure if I could cope with the amount of work involved in the degree as I am sure there is more to do in the degree.

If anyone has done or doing the degree I would really like to hear from them.

Many thanks

Kit

I am currently working on my final essay for my FD and finding it really tough. You need to be prepared for an awful lot of research/reading/independent work, depending on which one you do with which provider. You must be abl;e to write in an academic fashion, or prepared to learn the skill and have a lot of available hours over the course of the course (pardon the pun!) That's not to say it isn't enjoyable, just a lot of hard work. Do you intend to go on and do the full degree? If not, like me, you might find at the end of the day it just isn't worth all the time and stress. Smile

I have nearly completed the third year. Yes it is hard and I am begining to wonder if it was all worth the effort, considering what I am paid and that schools in my area rarely appoint higher than a level 2.

I have almost finished. Have finished in college, just research to do. Have had some stressful times, but I dont expect it to further my career. I did it for myself, although school did pay, and would pay if I went on to do BA Hons, but I dont think so!!.

will probably be worthwhile for your own satisfaction, but also in the future if you do move jobs
