Hello everyone, I am new to all this, so please be kind hehe.

I am going to an interview tomrow, for a TA job at my sons school (my son is dyslexia and poss dyspraxic).

I have always wanted to work with children and am quite nervous.

I dont have any qualifications or experience apart from my sons dyslexia.
The school SENCO asked if I would be interested in a vacancy they had and I know they have other applicants too.

I would be working with a Year 4 boy who has ASD.

Can any of you give me any advice or are in a similar situation.

Smile

Hello everyone,
Well I dont know how, but I managed to get the job.
My son is at the same school and has dyslexia/poss dyspraxia so have been quite involved with the senco there (although she is leaving).
I went in and met the Yr4 child i will be working with and he seemed like a sweet kid, although I think I am going to find it quite challenging as have never worked with ASD before.

Does anyone have any ideas for me at all considering I am just starting out and feel as though I am being thrown in the deep end a bit.

I start in 3 weeks time, so am going to go to library and do some internet research.

Also can anyone point me in the right direction for grammar, i.e the meaning of verbs, nouns, adjectives, adverbs ect.....
really need to brush up on this too.

Thanks a lot

Pinky XX Very Happy

Get booked on some ASD training as soon as possible.
NAS are helpful.
