Does anyone have any experience of using this software. I have got it on free approval over the holidays but cant make my mind up about it - it is so expensive as we would have to have the Clicker 5 upgrade as well. Anyone love it/hate it?

Love it. I use it for sentence building, reinforcing capital letters, full stops etc, it speaks back the sentence so the child can hear if it makes sence. I use it with yrs 3 and 4 (VERY mixed ability class) and get the more able pupils to input the words for sentence building as it is also good practise for their spelling.

I also use it occasionally for the children who are able to dictate what they want to say but have difficulties in writing as it gives them a confidence boost. Also the symbols help them to read back their sentences.
Hope you decide to use it!

Many thanks for all your replies. I use Clicker 4 and think it is an excellent resource. However, it is the new Letter and Sounds software I am unsure about, Has anyone experience of using that? T buy it we would have to upgrade to Clicker 5 - £600 plus the Letters and Souinds - £300!!

So if this isnt a really stupid question Embarassed how do you use clicker 5.

When i use it for AA i create a grid and then simply let the children type the sentence in and as you press on the space bar it speaks back.

How can you use it for other things? i'm interested to know.

Yes I really like Clicker 5. We have five licences for clicker 4 [generally use for SEN] and I upgraded two of the computers with tesco vouchers. Also got Clicker paint as an add on which is wonderful.

Like Buttercup I have a child with excellent verbal skills but very limited writing skills. so once he has dictated what he wants to say I input these in for him to rearrange [so practice in sentence construction independently]

We have used it in class [Yr 2] just as a word processor [left the sound on but took away the grids] for children to check their own sentences then they can create a picture and insert it into the writing.

Some of the online crick activities are good to down load too.

Haven't seen the letters and sounds software but there are loads of phonic based activities online so I wouldn't pay for that.

It's one of those soft ware programmes where you need to have time to play on and experiment then this puts you in a better position to think how to adapt class work. [I never have enough time?]

Same here, the children really love it as they can hear their mistakes!

Id rather teach myself. I look through the book or online tutorial and just have a go. When I did training for clicker 4 I got frustrated as the training was so slow.
