I have completed and passed E111,U212 and E243 and am currently studying ED209.

To get an open degree with honours I need to do 2 level 3 60 pointers and a further 30 points. I am considering doing E123 or E124 to make up the 30 points, from this Autumn before starting a level 3 course next Feb.
Just wondered if anyone would recommend either course, and what the workload would be like if it overlaps in feb!!

Congratulations on passing those courses. I've been with the OU a long time and I love it. I have just finished these two courses, I started them in Oct. I didnt keep up with the reading and managed to get through it, half way through i also changed jobs. There is not too much work and the level is very straightforward, if you are working in the Early years you should find it compliments your work really well, Its no more work than a 60 level 2 really.

I have now been accepted for HLTA assessment, and have been told that if successful, it is worth 30 higher education credits, which is what I need for my degree! So, for the time being, I am finishing ED209, then doing HLTA over the winter, and starting my fist level 3 in Feb 2009!

having said all that, I may yet do the 2 courses!

Wow, I can't believe that having completed E111 (60 credits) I still have to gain the HLTA status to take a class (only 30 credits). Especially when both are recognised at a level 4! I wish that someone 'up there' would wake up and acknowledge E111!! It is so frustrating - is the HLTA level1 equivelant?

However doing both, it seems, will pay off for you madmum so good luck. What will you do when you have your degree?
