i am stuck on e9
Describe the role of the teaching assistant in working with other professional
in setting targets.

i have just got it back and the teacher said i have to do it again by adding more information

this is what i had put

When setting target teaching assistant shares information with other professionals about the individual child about the child progress by sharing the observations that they have done on the child. Also this helps the teacher and the teaching assistant when they are writing the child’s I.E.Ps because they know what target they can achieve. i cant put the same what i did on my orginal. my tutor said on my orginal copy that this section was brief and that i have to do more work on it. i dont understand the question what they want me to do.

please could you help me, gill if you are there could you pm please or anyone else that could help me.

i have to hand it in on the 7th may

it may be that they want you to discuss other professionals that may work with your team so the EP/ speech and language/ behaviour support team as well as the 'professionals' within the school

would you discuss the pupil with these outside agencies (as you may know the child better) and set targets for any programmes they may suggest etc

I thought that reading the post DQ.
I think they want to make sure you are aware of other professionals that you may also have aworking relationship with.
EG:-
Education- Ed. Pysch.................reviewing IEP's and for Professional advice when somethings are not working.
S&L team for S&L diffficulties either Health -Speech Therapists or Education -Speech Specialists
Health-Physiotherapist
Education- EBD Team
Education-EAL Team
Social-EWO
- Social Worker
-Child Protection Team
NSPCC
Police

I think I have most there but also Specialist within school or say small schools associations like Dsylexia, ASD etc for special conditions these may also be from central Education Officers.
Ask the Ta's in the school where you are working to make a list of all the people they have contact with and that will help if there is no-one you have this list and I think they are all involved in our school at the moment bar the NSPCC.

write about how the teaching assistant works with other proffessionals to support the learning process. ways may include meeting to discuss: successful strategies, how to structure activities, how to modify teaching materials, promote active learning, encourage decision making and independance, when to intervene, monitoring/recording etc.
Hope this helps.
