hi

There is a girl in my year 6 class who is lovely. The problem is that lately she has started to smell of Body Odur. I would like to tell her, but i dont want to upset her, or if she goes home and tells family, i dont want them think that im insulting her.

Any help on how to approach this?

The year 6 teacher I work with usually has a general chat about showers, deodorants etc when it starts getting a bit whiffy. Rolling Eyes

It has to be done as a group exercise, maybe during a general class chat etc.

Don't worry most schools have a sex ed chat after SATS.This is brought up with 'changes in your body'.The girls usually start to discuss which type of body spray deodrant they like and the school start to smell of a sickly mixture as they bring them to school and spray the in the loo which inevitable wafts into the corridor and makes the staff (especially TA's working there) sick!

Have to agree, make sure it is a whole class/group thing, then you don't have to worry about pupils feeling picked on. I seem to remember when I worked with the big uns the class teacher would give a talk every year about this time about bo.

Only Y6, I have it goes on throughout all the years, I still have Y11s that haven't got the message and are still a bit 'high'. As a final efford we cover it in lessons on preparation for work and college, washing clothes, themselves etc. It does finally work and then we suffer a surplass of Lynnx and Impulse - yuk!

My concern is the head lice, nothing like working with a student that has so much hairgel on the lice crawl over the top trying to get to the roots. Shocked
