I love the conversations you can have with the older ones but also love the little ones. When they learn something new they are excited AND you get to play a lot Very Happy

I have no preference. i think it boils down to the relationship you have with the teacher.

I agree I just love them all! Little ones believe anything you tell them and and are soooo cute but when a year 6 tells you that you are mint it makes you really proud! Very Happy

I like the younger years better than the older ones - I've had experience of children from Year 1 to Year 4. I found the younger ones tended to look up to me more and some of them actually enjoyed working with me, they would ask "Are you coming in to our class this afternoon?" and some would even cheer when I said "Yes". I could work with the Year 3 and 4 children but found some of the Year 4's a bit cheeky at times as one or two tended to answer me back. I also found having a good relationship with the teacher and working with someone who was unlikely to be funny with me helped my confidence around the children as I could ask for help and be supported and praised for what I could do.

I have workrd with all year groups, from Foundation to Year 6. The ones I have enjoyed most were Reception and Year 6, one extreme to the other! A good TA, though, will always be adaptable to the ages of the children. I will be working with KS3 for the first time in Sept, so time to put that thought into practice! Shocked Very Happy

I've been with yr1/2 for years now and wouldn't want to move up!
Ihave contact with the older ones during lunchtime and find them rude and not very nice. God imagine if i had that all day!

Awww, thanks Dq and Bubbles. Well, I've survived so far and I love it! The main problem was finding my way around and, as part of my role is to share the care of a Year 7 girl with Cerebral Palsy, I also had to remember the ramp accesses. After a few days of handbrake turns with the wheelchair when we came to a bank of stairs, I think we've cracked it now! So, what year group do I prefer? I dunno, I love them all!! Very Happy
