hi

i am just coming to the end of my level 2 nvq, i dont have a clue where to go from here, is level 3 the only option?

i know i would love to get involved with SEBD the trouble seems to be that i need more experience! I have been working with secondary age kids since september and the more needy ones have support from level 3 tas.
Any advice on how to steer this way?

speak to your line manaher when you have your appraisal, ask if there are any courses etc or if you can be timetabled to work within this are for some lessons, ask if you could shadow some other TAs etc

if you dont ask they wont know you are interested Smile

good luck! let us know Smile

ask to do an ELSA course - emotional literacy. You will probably also need Team Teach or something similar.

As above ask. Very Happy

I am an ELSA and if you want to specialise with SEBD then ELSA training sounds the best way forward for you. I really enjoy my role and find it gives me loads of job satisfaction Very Happy
