After some discussion with other mods I have made this TOTW as it would be preferable to members phoning and making it more personal.I would not feel able to do that without the consent of my Headteacher and advise members here to remember our work is often confidental so do remember that when posting. This is why we ask members to have a user name instead of using their own name. It protects the children and the members themselves. This is part of a PM sent to me. A word of caution when posting......

I'm a producer at BBC Breakfast news and I'm looking into a story about teaching assistants. We're intereseted in finding out whether TAs often have to fulfill roles for which they are not actually paid, and perhaps are inadequately trained.

Sounds like it might be another TA bashing report! Unqualified people teaching our children/Mums army etc. I haven't seen the whole message so may be wrong but please be cautious. |

if you go on the TES forum site you may have noticed that the rabid individual tonycallaghan has found it and looks to be exploiting it as an "anti" teaching assistant oportunity. I would be wary of getting involved without a lot more information |

I have already posted on this, although the way my brain is at the moment I can't remember where, sorry. I was contacted and for my own reasons decided not to reply. |

Sorry my fault I had forgotten to add TOTW to the subject header. So if anyone wishes to reply on the questions asked by Erica perhaps you could do it here and protect your anonymity which is the point of this forum. Can we keep any discussion on whether to reply or not on the other thread.Thanks. |
