I have been getting some realy good reports about Scribus, an open source cross platform dtp program. Including some who consider themselves absolute beginners at this type of program.

One possible downside, it does not seem to embed images so if sharing you would need to create a seperate foder with images in it to share documents.

I haven't tried this one, and probably won't have time in the forseeable future as I have other projects on at the moment. So it may be possible to change this in the settings.

Maybe you have to register with Drupal (link at bottom of Scribus page) as they appear to be hosting Scribus.net
