|
|
Hi I'm starting the NVQ 3 in Sept and was just wondering if anyone that had finished it could advise me of any work I can do over the summer holiday to be prepared. I know I need a CV and have already got one of those is there anything else I could be doing now???
Thanks |

It's a new NVQ isn't. It's been changed slightly.
When I started I didn't need to do any preparation. Just went along on the first day. _________________ Lucybelle |

I have just started my NVQ 2 and went to the induction day last week.
I was told beforehand by the other people who were doing it that I would need things like a CV,copies of the school policies, copy of job description, copy of recent review/appraisal and any copies of certificates of course that you've been on.
I know I am only starting on the 2 but it really has helped me start off quickly by getting everything sorted to start with. Just by getting my file in order and gettting the plastic wallets they like to have work in and things like a staff list and prospectus in there are all things my tutor wanted in the first week. |

Hi, i have been told to USE plastic wallets by my Tutor and put the work in back to back!
It makes it harder as theres a lot of fiddling but my folder would be in a right state without them!
Each to their own i guess!

Thankx everyone all your advice is greatly needed and appreciated I best hold off buying any plastic wallets if some tutors don't like them. They do keep your work nice though. I am glad I'm not the only one being prepared in advance. I was a girl guide after all. LOL I'm not usually this organized I'll be behind in no time!!! |

Hi I agree with the post which suggest you read some of the school polocies. I used to drive the receptionist mad asking for the polocies but you need them. Gook Luck |

Hi I have just finished my NVQ3 and really enjoyed doing it, I have learned a great deal by doing this, sometimes I struggled with the performance indicators and how to show evidence at first but once you get into it you will know how to present it . good luck to you, get the Teaching assistants handbook level3 by louise burnham that is a great help you can start reading it before you start in sept. If you require any help give me a shout. Jayne. |

Hi, just finished NVQ 3, we couldn't use plastic wallets when sending each unit to be marked by tutor, but at the end of course we needed to build up portfolio with all work submitted back to back in plastic wallets.
Best of luck with the course. |

I finished my nvq2 in march ,have been waiting for a date to start nvq3 which has now been confirmed as Sept 08. Has anyone any info on the numeracy and literacy assessment that you have to do before starting the course, do i need to practise my maths. I,ve been supporting pupils in year 6 in maths for the last few years, but its a long time since i've worked above this level. |
