Hi i know i have to give 4 weeks but you can use your holidays for notice too so was going to give the 1st of aug till 1st sept.
What i was wanting to know was if i give it in now will it count from now or can i date it from august 1st?
As i want to make sure all is well with the move before handing in notice. |

So could i not give it in on the 1st of July and say i wish it to go from the 1st of aug that way it would be more than a months notice.I couldn't give it in on the 31st of aug because i wouldn't be able to come back to work at start of term 5th sept,
I would like to get my aug salary if i could so i thought if i gave it in 1st of july and said as from 1/8.08 i wish to work my notice.
I do intend to work up till the end of term which for us is 22nd july i only work three mornings a week |

Right so i would finish on the 31st of august so in my letter i would put that i wish to resign as from the 31st July that would be a month then.
Sorry i'm not thick honest but having never done this before and my HT been on the ball i didn't know if you could resign in advance and i didn't want the Ht coming back at me saying well you must go end of term if you resign now! |

Write to the school governors / HT now stating:
| Code: | | I write to give notice, as per terms of my contract of employment, that I wish to resign effective 31st August, 2008. |
You are required to give them at least 4 weeks' notice - you will have given them more notice - you would cease to be employed as of 31st August. _________________ A clever person solves a problem.
