Does anyone get emotional, lump in the throat or tear in the eye when children in their class do brilliant work and get rewarded for it?
I work in KS1 and I feel so stupid sometimes, but I do get quite teary when I see some in my class doing so well, when they haven't been able to do it before. |

Yeah I'm exactly the same. Worst is when we do our nativity or assembly and I'm nearly in tears by the end. Sports Day is another one to when they get a sticker for trying their best and they're so happy lol!
Thought it was just me

Me too, the kids know I cry and usually start looking at me in assembly.
The worst is the yr 6 long distance run at sports day.
My first year of work we had a boy whose mum had just died, he still wanted to run the race, well he fell over and all his class mates were yelling at him and trying to encourage him to get up and keep going.
Then his Dad got up from the seats, jumped over the barrier, ran to his son. He stood him up and ran the race side by side it was the most emotional thing I have ever seen Dad in a business suit and tie son in PE kit.
He has left the school now but every year I still remember it and the long distance race always makes me cry. |

I was thinking the same thing.
Yes very emotional.Get very excited when SEN achieves something.Nearly cried the other day when a KS2 child who can barely give a short sentence to you in Literacy gave me too long sentences for her diary report of school trip. Best sentences she had given me for two years which shows how much school trips can stimulate kids. |

I usually cry when it's the Leavers Assembly ... I've yet to stay for the entire assembly, I usually end up in the Staff Room snivelling! |
