I wonder if anyone has any advice I have already done the NVQ 2 TA course but now I want to advance a little further and have been looking at the local college courses one offers the NVQ3 whilst the other is offering a new Apprenticeship course which it says is replacing the NVQs and I am totally confused Rolling Eyes

Has anyone heard of the NVQs being phased out and replaced? What is the best one to enrol on?

I have been told by a friend who is currently studying for her NVQ2 that with effect form September there is no longer a NVQ3 teaching assistants course it has been renamed and you have to be employed to take the course. Haven't checked if this is correct though.

Thanks, I am employed as a Teaching Assistant so maybe that means I can do the NVQ3, any idea where I would find that information out from to clarify it?

Hi yes if you have a look on the City and Guilds website and type in Teaching Assistant you will see a note giving some details.

awww thats cr@p,just finishing my nvq2 and wanted to do the 3 but im not employed by the school just doing the assigned voluntary hours.Now im buggered as to what to do next Sad

i'm doing the city and guild nvq 3 as is a friend. I am a paid TA she is not, same college, same tutor different optional units. Both of us started in july...
