CACHE - NCFE - BTEC - ABC - NVQ

I am considering applying for TA posts but would like to study from home a distance learning TA course. I already hold a degree and a PGCE (post 16), and I appreciate the PGCE is of no use in a school. Hopefully I am entering as a volunteer in Sep.

I would really appreciate some advice as to which course would benefit me most. i.e. which course would provide more weight on my CV and are the Distance Learning courses (employable) and taken seriously enough?

Any comments would be greatly appreciated....

Open University course E111 supporting learning in primary schools seems to be an up and coming course and you should have no trouble with it if you are in school volunteering as you have already studied above that level.

Soz, should have mentioned, my volunteer work is secondary - so which course would be suitable for that age range?

I have had a look at the E111 and it looks really good.

Out of interest is the E111 higher/better than the NVQ2/3?

I would say higher as it could be used as part of a degree. Not in secondary so can't help with that I'm afraid, but why not ask at the school if there is anything they woudl recommend?

E111 is a level 4 qualification, however you need to be based in a primary school to fulfill the course requirements.
