Letter arrived today announcing I have an interview on Tuesday. At the mo, I volunteer in Year 2 class and this is at another school with mixed class of Year 3 & 4. As ususal an activity has to be done and I have to prepare one of my own choosing. Year 3 &4 are a mystery to me, so any ideas on their level of learning would be a great help.

Thanks in advance. I have read the interview questions thread with eagerness and have made some notes. Trying to cover all angles!!

It depends what you are confident with.I would choose something Art /D&T. Maybe a little notebook from card and paper to make a list for things to do or holiday list of what to take.
Or a card for their teacher might go down well.If you knew how many there were you could prep a lot of it so it doesn't take too long.Teach a new skill if you can. Simple decoupage from wrapping paper or even just a piece of paper and some pencils, cut out shapes from foam or tissue flowers. Some card to mount it on.The kids will love it.Look in some books for ideas. They will be motivated because it is for their teacher.
Look out for anyone with SEN that may need more help.

Good Luck

Thanks Jack, I did think of maybe a summer holiday diary in the first place. What I have decided to do is an Olympic theme with the difference between modern and ancient and looking at the symbols of the flag and the different sports.

Just got to watch my timing!!

Many thanks again. Fingers crossed for Tuesday

Following on from my nerves the other day, guess what...... today - first interview and they offer me the job. Very Happy The activity went well and I think that is what swayed it for them, because I waffled on concerning the scenarios.

Its TA and MSA which is fine as I am an MSA at mo but wanted to fulfil my NVQ training. A shame its at another school and when I told my son he cried because he wont see me around school anymore. I explained I will still drop off and pick up so no worries.

Its a shame because I love being there but I see it as I have to do something now I have NVQ2. I cannot stay there just on the off chance they will offer me something because I don't think that will happen. They dont seem to like employing mothers at our school, only for 1:1 pupils. Anyway I have mixed feelings at the mo but I am happy that I still have the "thing" that people want at 40 years of age!!
