Think about all the good things that happen when you're 50. The kids have left home (hopefully) You'll know what is in the fridge will still be there till you take it out. The dears won't have first call on your spare cash. You won't have to ask to use your own car. You can have your own choice of music. The computer will be all yours and you won't be worried about the length of telephone calls and the ever increasing telephone bill. You won't have to hunt for those clothes they want to wear but haven't remembered to put in for washing. But best of all the house has a chance of staying tidy for a while or it would if you haven't any one living with you like Mr T who I am afraid never learnt the meaning of that word.

All in all I quite like being 50+ Very Happy

I am surprised to hear all this - I really believe life can begin at 40.

Im 42 this year and have achieved more in the last two years than i did the 10 years previous, I spent a little time dwelling on the prospect of being officially old (thats what my kids called it) but decided to turn it on its head and kick myself into growing old disgracefully by riding my beast of a motorbike and looking for an upside to any given situation - after all isnt that what us TA's are good at - motivating and encouraging life experiences.

I also took 4 qualifications and enjoyed meeting other people like me to share ideas and make my sometimes challenging job so much more fun.

So come on ladies its cool to be mature but it doesnt mean we have to stop doing the things we like even if others find it hard to comprehend eg sensible mum on huge bike Shocked

Life is for living and even if the body isnt willing our determination will make it happen.

When I was young I honestly thought I would be dead by 30, so reaching 40 was a bonus. Plus it did not seem as old as I thought it was when I was younger Shocked

The biggest change in my 40's has been a complete change in my priorities and interests. Despite the frustrations of the last couple of years over all I am much happier then I have ever been.
