Please can any former or current students tell me what their views on U211 are? eg. tmas difficult, course materials interesting?

I want to register but I like to hear your views first.

Hi,

I'm currently doing U212 and am really enjoying the course.

It's very interesting, especially about different cultures. Not too much theory either really.

Topics covered include, gender, childhood innocence, child development, families, socilization, play, friendships, children's literature, media, ....


Tma's - there are 7 to do. 1500 - 2000 words.

Tma's are roughly every 4 weeks and they do seem to come around quickly.


As far as work load goes, i spend on average about 8 hours a week studying - reading, note taking , watching the videos etc... , but i think the Ou suggests 10 - 12 hours.


Having previously done DD100, social sciences, I certainly prefer U212 by far.

Did you mean U212 or U211 ? I did U212 last year and found it very enjoyable and interesting and have just registered for U211 (Exploring the English language). Is this the one you mean ? I, too, would be very interested to hear about past U211ers.
