|
|
A few months back a family moved in at opposite us and sufficient to say both neighbours now have their houses up for sale, with no joy! They have late night parties, spilling out onto the grass, people forever coming and going. Children taking toys out of others gardens, whilst mum was there etc.
Fortunately, we cannot hear any of it but feel for their elderly neighbour who is now scared to go into her own gardens.
Well yesterday, mum was talking to a policeman outside... the 5 year old set light to a sofa, then whilst mum and said police were trying to sort it set light to the curtains ............. end result house totally gutted. Fortunately no-one was hurt.
Now I know I should be sympathetic, and am of her loss of memories, but somehow feel slightly peeved. There were 4 fire-engines, 4 police cars, a paramedic bike, an ambulance, fire support van and the road had to be totally closed in both directions for hours (several people unable to get to work). The cost with the clear up must be phenomenal and she has not got to repay or accept responsibility for any of it. She was heard to say, 'It's ok because we'll get a new home anyway!'
Sorry rant over and yes you may feel I am unduly harsh but it's how I feel. _________________

I don't think you're harsh either True. The cost of that little operation will no doubt go into the thousands, plus the cost of repairs to the house. I expect there'll be no insurance for the building or contents.
I bet though that the street is breathing a sigh of relief that the little arsonist didn't take a fancy to their houses.
One good thing will have come out of it, their neighbour will be able to enjoy her garden again. _________________ Accept that some days you are the pigeon and some days the statue

Really feel for you, hope your neighbours don't return. Really gets
my back up because I bet they get loads of 'support' from the state, whilst genuine hard working people don't (sorry don't mean to upset anyone, but it always seems anyone who is genuinely in need is always 'just above the threshold'). Honestly hope its the back of them, nothing worse than bad neighbours. We moved house because of our last neighbours so do understand.
At least there will be some peace in 'trueblue avenue'

at least no- one was hurt and they are gone . Unfortunatly too many neighbours like this. We have some next door but one, but they also own their own house, so council cant threaten to chuck them out etc like they can with council tennants. it makes me sad because my kids cant go out to play because their kids keep bullying them, and how can they afford to constantly buy eggs just for the kids to throw at other peoples windows..Their youngest 8 now has the government paying for a taxi too take him to school and back, its only a 5 min walk because he cant be bothered turning up, my kids go to school 5 miles away i dont get help with the cost of that... |

its sort of nice to know that their are others out there in a similar position with neighbours. i actually find it quite embarrasing that i live near such people, as it is supposed to be a highly desirable area. I keep hoping daddy neighbour will get caught doing what he does, the home will be reposessed and the kids taken into care the other side of the country- i would settle for the house burning down one afternoon when mum dad and kids were in the pub.
probably sounds harsh but my kids suffer and we can't afford to move. |
