I am starting a new degree in sept. and needed to set up a website or blog as part of this. Does anyone know or think of a reason why I can't post part of my assignments on it? I have looked on the OU site for information about this but can't find anything. I am starting a web page about inclusion and wanted to include some of my E243 work on it.

thanks, buttercup.

Hi Buttercup,

You could check with your tutor, however the assignments are your work and so should not be a problem - you will probably want to leave posting until after they have been marked though.

The only caution I would add is you keep your eyes on your refrencing and quotes. While the information will probably be useful and interesting you will probably lose credibility if you appear to be ripping off others work as your own. Keeping them firmly in place will add to your credibility, and act as sign post for those who are interested in finding out more.

For instance I know one poster who types out posts filled with 'facts and figures' and then copies and paste them onto a lot of forums. He quickly loses credibility because he never gives links or lists publications where he gets his information from and rarely replies to responses. He is now considered a spammer by many forums.

Thanks George,

I will check with my tutor. My intention was to just use snippets of them with quotes and referencing intact where necessary and with links as to where more information is available. A lot of the assignments are based on your personal view with reference to course books etc backing this up or arguing against it.

I'll give it some more thought and see what I can do.
