Hope no one minds me starting part two, couldn't find first one and need a hug.
#2 daughter has gone to brownie camp, dropped her off yesterday, have been fine about it, but for some reason am starting to miss her so deeply. I know she will be having a brill time as she is the sort to make the most of every opportunity. Just feel there is this big gaping hole ....
So if anyone has a hug or two to spare could really do with it tonight.
Dot

My 15 year old twins left for a 10 day activity holiday this morning. They will be doing lots of exciting activities and although I know they are well supervised I still worry. They have only been away for a few days before.

Worrying and missing them is so strange. They drive us mad when they are around and we long for some peace ( I do anyway) then we miss them like mad when we get what we wish for.
Both my boys went to America when in the 6th form (at different times). I worried most when they were on the plane - but for a strange reason more while they were over the sea!!!
I naively thought it would get easier as they got older. I'm still waiting and my eldest will be 23 in a couple of weeks! |

Dot and others who's children have gone away...
its part of the deal though isnt it of being a parent.
allow yourself the feelings and find some good things for you to do in between whiles.
It's ok to feel a bit wobbly.

I need a hug
My daughter went out this morning announcing she was on her way to her summer job. Stepped back in, looked at me and then said 'at least I've got a job'
I knew the days when miss G put me on a pedestal and worshipped me were long gone, if they ever existed, but hadn't realised how low I've gotten.
Spent half the day feeling like sh!t and the other half wondering how much rent I can charge her now she is working _________________ Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it may be necessary from time to time to give a stupid or misinformed beholder a black eye. |

I'm sure she didn't say it to upset me, but rather as a tease.
Actually we're still trying to work out what the job is. She has a week of training, we believe it is history orientated and aimed at tourists. Plus someone from the new 'The London Bridge Experience' has offered her a free ticket if she can prove she is over 15.
All she was bothered about last night was she had been out in the sun all day, was hot and thirsty and in a foul mood. So she is getting the real work life experience
But thanks for the hugs. _________________ Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it may be necessary from time to time to give a stupid or misinformed beholder a black eye. |

My mum always says about kidz:
'They make your arms ache when they're young and your heart ache when they're older'
I have noooo idea what she means by that, honestly! I'm angelical, really. I never do anything wrong! (tee-hee)
I'm sure they miss you too, Dorothy. |
