...looms over us. OH came home last night with that gloomy news.
he escaped in January. i dont know whether he will this time. he doesnt know which departments are affected. or how many have got to go,. they were asking for ppl to go voluntarily yesterday. naff time of year - ppl are away on holiday.
never a good time for it i know.
fingers crossed. makes for stressful times again. my heart goes out to him and others like him in this crappy position.
sorry for the moan.

Awwwwwww - thank you for your care and support. means such alot today.
the irony is that it will be 3 years on Friday since he started in this job having been made redundant in his last one.
so even if he is made redundant the pay off will be next to nothing.
what is almost worse is the waiting and the unknown and the awful angst that goes with that. once you know ...whilst it doesnt make it heaps better makes it a known quantity again and you can start to look elsewhere and plan and all of that.
i always think not knowing is harder to deal with.

no more real news. he thinks he may escape this time but that come January and the next round after a major re structuring at the end of the year and he thinks that will be more likely a time.
either way the stress is back. if it ever really went away. there arent many jobs out there at the moment. his CV is with various agencies as it has been for a while.
the ppl who have asked to take voluntary redundancy have until next Monday. i guess if there arent enough takers then ppl wont be given the option. He doesnt know whether various departments are being specifically targeted or not.
no news might be good news for now - praps know more next week.
i just ache for him - again. seems to have been the pattern of his working life. sometimes there are no words are there. uncertainty is so naff. cant plan for anything. we seem to lurch from one financial crisis to the next. very few months when we remain in the black. and that's not being extravagant thats just paying the basics.
hey ho!...

Ifeel for you both catbells, it is hard constantly paddling just to stay afloat. I hope your husband's job is unaffected by the redundancies ahead. X |

So sorry for your all. I can relate to the stress we are in exactly the same position, don't know whether you've got a job tomorrow, hence why OH working long hours.
Only, good thing is that we've been through this before and can start putting in place plans should it happen again. Already keeping an eye on the budget and future plans. Telling everyone now not to expect a lot for Christmas, may be one present for the children none for parents.
Hope everything works out. |
