Last year the TMO was approached so that our office staff could do NVQ in admin. Originally I was asked if I would like to do it, but wasn't sure I would get the experience for level 5 - the level they suggested I was working at. So I pulled out.
Yesterday I had another meeting with them. They turned up with a folder asking me to sign it off so they can get me an NVQ 3 Business and Administration. All the work had been done for me, and a couple of signatures would probably change my fortune round in my job hunting.
Sadly I succumbed to the temptation.
I showed him the door and told him to f*ck off!
I would rather struggle with my integrity intact then do that. It also annoyed me because I know how hard members here work for their NVQs. The final insult was this course was offered free because they have government funding to help raise the skills of the workforce. So not only would this qualification be meaningless but public money would have been spent on it.
And yes I am looking into reporting them. _________________ Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it may be necessary from time to time to give a stupid or misinformed beholder a black eye. |

I echo what the others have said George.
I hope you've got their names. _________________ Accept that some days you are the pigeon and some days the statue

DQ, if it was just evidence of what I'd been doing I wouldn't have minded as much, at least then I would have been assessed on my performance.
The folder did seem to be evidence on how I applied the various principles, but none of the evidence was based on any of my experiences or how I had responded to the given situations. Someone had simply done what was necessary for me to get the certificate
The only involvement I've had was when I first filled in the forms, but when he explained that it was a expected for me to be working full time and applying what I was learning that I realised I probably wouldn't meet the requirements and pulled out.
I know I can be overopinionated at times, but for me what they did was wrong. _________________ Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it may be necessary from time to time to give a stupid or misinformed beholder a black eye. |

Thanks everyone.
I agree with Jaydee, it does devalue the award. Especially for those who have worked hard for it.
Beamie, what pandoras box? These people are fleecing public money for awards which have not been earned and could possibly put hard working and honest people at a disadvantage when applying for work. _________________ Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it may be necessary from time to time to give a stupid or misinformed beholder a black eye. |

Really don't understand the thought process of your bosses. Does this mean that they will complete test/exam papers on behalf of students? Where does it stop. Good for you for standing up for your principles (als). |

I totally agree and it stinks. I was just suggesting I hope the people you report it too are equally principled and support you, I really do. |
