So sorry you are dealing with this.

Yes we lost a little boy in our school when he was 8. It was is heart that let him down. He was in my daughters class.

They had lots of discussions & they had a specialist come in to help the children talk through their grief.

they wrote messages on labels & attached them to white balloons and let go. his mum & dad came, teachers also wrote labels.

The children made a small quiet/reflection garden.

This would have been in last year at the school so the children had a little memorial service by his garden and a plaque was laid by the garden.

I have had to deal with this a few times now, having worked with children who are ill because of their disability. It is really hard and there are a couple of songs that make me cry if I hear them without warning as they were played at the funerals.

Different schools I have worked in deal with things differently but they always hold some kind of memorial assembly for the children and the bereaved parents.

The first few days of term will be the hardest but staff and children always pull together at these times.

hug

Thank you all so much for your kind words of support.

It has been sad but we are raising money for probably a memorial garden as child loved the outdoors and growing things.

Children dont seem too bad at the minute.

it will probably affect all the children at different times and you may find particular times of the year more difficult than others.
