Support by encouraging interaction with each other, the teacher and teaching assistants, so whenever possible have children working in groups or pairs, using children who are good role models.
Include and involve them in classroom routines, such as giving out equipment and collecting books so they have the opportunity to make contact with other pupils.
Ensure that you continue to talk to them, react to their non-verbal responses and include them in class and group activities whenever possible.
