Ahh! The differences between jargon in Scotland and England is doing my head in!

OK - you use SEN, we use ASN (additional support needs)

What are:
SLD (specific learning difficulty?)
MLD
PMLD

took me a while but i found it

Cognition and Learning Needs:

Specific Learning Difficulty (SpLD)
Moderate Learning Difficluty (MLD)
Severe Learning Difficulty (SLD)
Profound & Multiple Learning Difficulty (PMLD)


Communication and Interaction Needs:

Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
Austistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD)


Sensory and/or Physical Needs:

Visual Impairment (VI)
Hearing Impairment (HI)
Multi-Sensory Impairment (MSI)
Physical Disability (PD)


Behaviour, Emotional & Social Development Needs:

Behaviour, Emotional & Social Difficulty (BESD)

HI sorry I haven't been around much. I'm new to all this chool business and studying a dgree to go onto teacher training thereafter.

What does SENCO stand for. I have seen it used alot in England on applications and around the school I work in and I haven't had the time to ask anyone yet?
