in my area all of the schools, senior, junior and primary have a lsa or rep that meet on a regular basis to pool knowledge. what works what doesnt etc. loads of good things have come out of this and we are working to make the school dyslexia friendly. still got a few teachers to convert. our rep actually has dyslexia and so does her daughter, it slows them down but it dosent hold them back, her daughter recently got a degree from uni and has signed up for another one, she works to fund her self.

my first born is taking her gcses this year and according to her coursework so far may get a's or b's, this would be a big acheivement as she is dyslexic. but unlike a lot of children it doesnt so much effect her work directly, but it severly effects her organisation, i sometimes wonder how she remembers the way to school lol

so watch this space cus i'm bound to be bragging about her results in a few months time

well done to yours summer. did you know that 40% of Successful entrepreneurs are dyslexic! i work with a lad and yes he has trouble organising him self, but i think he will be the next richard branson. he gets an idea sees the end result (and not the pit falls along the way) and off he goes.

Summertime, my child is dyslexic and will be off to secondary school in September. His organisational skills really are a probelem (well, lack of them!!) I could panic about what will happen in September.....on the good side he has just received his Maths SAT's results and has got 98%(5a) so I am officially bragging for him!!
