Is anyone out there involved with a secondary school being rebuilt?

Just come back for BSF meeting, all sec. schools in my borough are being rebuilt. As a governor its exciting yet worrying to be part of it.

It would be good to speak to someone who had been through it or going through it.

The only thing that's been vaguely similar that I've been involved in was having new classrooms added onto the existing school and the parking/playgrounds/outside games area rebuilt. I think you'll find that most of this will fall on the HT . S/ He'll want ideas from Governors and staff and will discuss the needs of the school over the next years. Property services will be very involved. In the end it's them that will have the final say in any plans. I presume that the new school will be built on an alternative site or will the existing school be raised and the children moved to temporary accommodation. If the new school is being built alongside the old you'll have to look into the health and safety aspect.
