Hi DQ, must return all those assertiveness (TA) books sometime. I just have one more workshop, so hopefully no more essays to write! _________________

would you say the resource pack you are preparing could be delivered by a TA with GCSE and conversational French only? |
Absolutely. Will try and find out where we got the disc etc from to make the resources (it was up North somewhere I think).
I mentioned about TAs delivering the lessons to our MFL co-ordinator and she said that it was more than likely as we only had to provided resources and support and it was up to the individual schools who did the actual teaching.
I'm sure most of us are able to rise to the challenge ( a bit more money might be nice too though ) |

Am just about to start teaching Spanish to Y5 in my school. Can't do any of these fab moving pics. that you lot can all do but did live in Spain for 3 years so am looking forward to it. I also have a degree in French and German but they are a bit rusty due of lack of use. Anyway understand that you must feel fairly daunted but there are loads of fab websites out there. Check these out:

Hope these are some help. Have a friend who teaches French and she recommended them. You should be given some sort of scheme of work but there are loads of topics you an plan a lesson around - colours, numbers, parts of body, weather, animals, family, days of week, months, alphabet, clothes and lots of games to reinforce new vocab. Good luck |

Am sure you'll be fine. Did my first Spanish lessons today and it went fine. Second one was better as teacher was present during first one as she is keen to learn too but I never feel I am completely myself when someone is watching and was greatly relieved when the other teacher left me alone with her class. The children were really keen and eager to please and have to admit I enjoyed it.
Remember you'll be doing something no-one else is doing so go for it and make it your thing! |
