That sounds good I made a visual timetable by Choosing different colours for each subject and different coloured card for each day for ASD pupil. He found this easy to follow after a couple of weeks as it replaced his pictorial photographs. This is in preparation for Secondary. This year I am getting a timetable from the secondary and writing it using the same colours as last year. Hopefully he will learn to follow it and it will make his transfer easier.

Nellie this child should be receiving support from a Speech and Language Specialist. If you have any problems or need information ring them and ask for help they have lots of work sheets. Ask you Senco? I could give you some information but this is a more Specialized area and unless you are very experienced in this field I think you should ask for help from the appropriate service.

If there is an extended schools project in your area, they sometimes teach clasess (2 hrs a week for about 6 weeks) to parent/others wishing to learn how maths is taught in schools re early years. I attended one myself and it was very helpful. Your school should have a contact number of the project leader you can ask about this.
