Can anyone suggest a cd of simple French songs that i could buy really quickly? I particularly need one for numbers 1 - 10, the children need something to help them chant.
Failing that, a game other than bingo to help them with numbers.

Noughts and Crosses

Draw a noughts and crosses grid on the board and fill it with numbers, e.g.

Now split the class into two teams (one team is labelled "Noughts" and the other "Crosses"). A child from "Noughts" should choose a number and say what that number is in French. If they get it right, the teacher can draw a nought over the number on the grid. This process is repeated for "Crosses", and if the answer is correct, a cross can be drawn over the number. Each team has a turn, and the game is won when a straight line of three noughts / crosses is drawn on the board.

edit: adapt to a 'connect 4' style grid? - btw you're only going to want to use the numbers 1 - 20 Wink

thanks Dadenuk. Can you tell me the tune(s) you use for the chanting?
Love the noughts and crosses. We have only done 1 to 12, but the game still lends itself to that. Usually I do something that involves the kids forming a circle, last week it was throwing large foam dice and saying the number rolled in french. But those that had a turn started getting too chatty.
