Thanks Trueblue,
With the younger children I would probably agree with you, but what about years 5 and 6? _________________ Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it may be necessary from time to time to give a stupid or misinformed beholder a black eye. |

Hi DQ,
The questions to help focus their thoughts sounds like a good additional _________________ Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it may be necessary from time to time to give a stupid or misinformed beholder a black eye. |

Yes, Y5&6 would be able to do as your daughters school does, and I think it would be good.
Fortunately, I can honestly say that in the 15 months I have been here I have not seen a single incident of genuine bullying. Fallouts etc happen. I think being a small rural school with mainly affluent families makes a difference. We also do not have any non white children so that issue has never arisen.
We have quite a few ASD children but their numbers makes them 'the norm' and therefore not open to too much attention either.
It would be interesting to see what the childrens reaction would be if an asian or afro-caribean child started. _________________

We have recently introduced a Friendship Certificate. Given by LSA's at playtime (awarded at end of week). Trying to highlight, recognise and reward the right behaviour.
When I have seen a child behave in a bullying way then I will always speak to the child and warn them that their behave could be considered bullying and that I will have to report it to the class teacher. The teacher will then deal with the incident and if necessary report it to the head as a
bullying incident where it will be recorded and a letter sent home. |
