as long as you have followed the correct format, and included all the info im sure it will be fine, and im sure they are there to give advice too, if it isnt what they are looking for
it is nerve wracking though

All the time. However I have a fab tutor at the mo (we have a different one for each module) and can email her anytime and she gives instant feedback. My SENCO told me to make use of them and not to struggle and keep emailing with my assignments so I know I am on the right track.
That and I have DQ to thank for looking at my last one.

I have 2 tutors at the mo doing 2 essays for 1 and 1 for the other. One is really good, has looked at one of mine and given feedback. The 3000 word one has been read by a teacher at school and she only found one punctuation mistake, but the third essay for the other tutor is very different. She will look at it next week and tell us pass or fail. We then has 6 weeks to improve before handing it in. She won't except it as an email, she won't give feedback and she hasn't told us very much about how she would like quotes put in, how many she expects to see or anything else for that matter. We have been left to contact members of the cohort above us for help. I have done that and had some brilliant help from someone but it doesn't seem very fair to us.

some tutors can b a bit funny. The amount of words in the assignment should give u a clue as to how many quotes. its normally between 5-7 for an assignment between 1500 to 2500. It might vary depending on ur tutor. However ur referncing style should b the same for all tutors as u r marked on set criteria. We use havard referencing and i have book as a guide and u cant really go wrong with it.
Dont b frightened of questioning ur tutors, im forever asking questions. most r will to help as ur mark reflects their teaching after all!

We have been given a book of instructions but some of the cohort above have said that this particular tutor is quite fussy it's just that she hasn't told us!

Ok, drafts submitted today, written comments and time for a quickm chat with relevent tutor. Both essays for the Education business module are good enough to submit without any alterations. This was very good news as I had worked my socks off over them and would have cried if I had to rewrite. The Supporting Literacy essay would be a pass but could obviously be improved, especailly now tutor has given us a much better idea of what she is looking for. Would like to have had that info a month ago and not 5 mins before submitting but now we have it things are a little clearer and I still may wrap it all up before Christmas.

Both the tutors I have had so far have been vastly different. The first gave no direction at all and I know I have done the HLTA but this is far different writing purpose.
For a lot of us academic writing is not coming easy as we are used to saying " I did this and that and the child blah blah blah". For the first module we had soo many conflicting points as we had two tutors, one would say okay yes I do not mind bullet points and the other would say no. Arrrgghh!!! Same with sub headings!
The second tutor as I have said is fab and given guidelines as to what she is expecting. I certainly wish I had done this module first.

I know what you mean, our 2 are very different and left it far too late to give us advice on how to present our work. One told us that she wouldn't mark down a good essay if it was laid out slightly wrong or not quite academically enough but the other is clearly expecting us to be perfect straight off!

Thats what I mean! It isnt fair that they give conflicting information. I am not looking forward to the next module either, apparently the tutor is a lot worse than the first one.
