It would vary from region to region, also, if she were to have individual lessons or be part of a group. Your daughter's school should have links with music teachers in your area. If enough parents were interested, perhaps they would organise lessons at school.
Good luck and I'm sure others on the forum may be able to offer something more concrete.

i used to pay about £10 but that was years ago so prob about 15 to 20
but the school may offer them to pupils as a group, not sure if they have to learn on an acoustic guitar tho, rather than an electric one
or if you have a music shop nearby they may have ads in the window for lessons

I used to pay £15 for an hour a few years ago. Most teachers limit children to half or three quarters of an hour. You can buy some very good tutors on DVD now. why not invest in one.
As someone who teachers children to play guitar and recorder in school can I plead that you encourage your daughter to practise what she is taught even 15 minutes a day will work wonders.
You might also like to get her an electronic tuner so that you can tune up the guitar yourself and have a spare set of strings handy.

I play classical guitar and so am not up to date with what is available for electric. I would imagine she'll be learning cords at first. If you have a good music store near you I would ask there advice as they will know their own stock the best.
