As catbells has written, nothing is ever as straightforward as simply a yes or a no.

One of the overall comments I hear about going on strike is the fear of not being paid for those days. It's something I fully understand, when every penny you earn is accounted for, even missing a day of work without pay can be stressful. Especially when you can see the prices of most things increasing it seems weekly. I'm sure that this is one of the reasons why not many voting slips get returned.

Unfortunately that's were employers have the edge over the low paid. I'm sure that if every union member, all how ever many thousands there are of us, went on strike there would be serious thought given to our pay increase. Can you see the country managing with out all the support staff in school, refuse collectors, health care, local government, civilian police staff etc.

For those who think they will be out of pocket you can apply to your branch office for monies out of the strike fund. this would not cover your wages but might make up some of the difference.
anyone who thinks the timing is poor must remember that it is the whole of local government going on strike not just schools, it maybe the case that they strike while we are on holiday if Government does not agree to the demands.
And finally we are in this together the majority who voted have voted to strike we should all now stand together and make this action effective!

Can anyone tell me what the postition would be if another strike was planned when the schools are on holiday? As we get our pay allocated over 12 months, does that mean we would still lose pay from that allocation even if we aren't in school??
