I've noticed from time to time there are questions about play and the ta's role in facilitating play. I came across this little snippet and thought it may be of some help when considering the types of play and what the ta role may be.
TYPES OF PLAY
Mastery play - learning how to use objects
Creative play - playing with aesthetics
Deep play - learning about risk and danger
Recapitulative play - den building, hiding, climbing
Dressing up - experimenting with identity
Rough and tumble play - testing your own strength
