We don't break up till 23rd. Parents evening on tues this week. We do know that there is only 2 classes that are swopping with each other. It will proberly be down to me to help the teachers get tray lablels and reading response cards and displays ready in the hols like i have done the last few years as i like to help them as we all are very good friends and socialise together.

Teahcers have known since last Thursday, children will find out this Thursday when we do class swap afternoon, our timetables not done yet but they hope to tell us before the end of term. I am currently split between four classes and 3 key stages so you can see how difficult our timetables are.

We broke up yesterday and still don't know where we will be next year! HT called us for a meeting on Thursday to tell us that we will have a temporary timetable for the first 2 weeks while she sorts it out. We have several children about to be admitted with significant needs but the arrangements have not yet been finalised by the LEA and at the moment there is no funding available as the LEA contingency fund has been allocated with several schools still needing funding. 2 new additional provision units are due to open during the year but will not be ready for September.

We will not be class based but work more with intervention groups. Apparently we will also sometimes supervise classes while the CT works with the children who need more help. Our Senco is concerned that we know more about some children than the CT and while she appreciates all that we do these children often need the expertise of a qualified teacher.

I'm not really bothered as I have not been class based for 2 years but others are very unsettled.

The good thing is that we did have a chance to air some concerns and she has promised to speak to the teachers so they know what our role should be so we are used effectively but not exploited.
